I know this song is really about helping make the world better, to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

I want to take the same message underlying it and give it a relational spin.

What’s the matter with my relationship? I am.

Every time we want to point the finger to our partner, wishing they would change this or that, this song is a good reminder that if we want to make our relationship better, we need to start with what we can do.

Really, that’s all we have. We have no control of how our partners behave or how they will respond. But we can change our actions and be a good example. We need to be the change that we want to see in our relationships:)
