The Five Year Male Drought is Over!

February 2nd, 2009 by MidoriLei

It’s funny how people come back into your life when you least expect them.

It’s even funnier (not to mention completely awesome) when it feels like no time has passed and you’re continuing where you left off.

So I went on my first date in five years last night. With the boy who made my palms sweat freshman year– in high school.

Yup, 12 years ago.

He happens to be in Seattle.

I happen to be in San Antonio.

How exactly did we have a date?

A long-distance movie date, of course!

(His brilliant idea, of course.)

We agreed on a movie, called each other, and pressed play at the same time.

(of course I had to screw it all up and press pause, so he had to get us back on track.)

maybe we talked the entire time anyway.

maybe this is the first date I’ve had that involved a closet, a laptop…

and a headset with ducktape for my brain cancer paranoia.

maybe I made silly girl sound effects because of the violence, which made him laugh.

maybe the best part about the movie was the boy watching it with me 3000 miles away.

And maybe I need to stop writing so much about this boy because he might read this:)

LOL Yeah, I was wondering if he reads this! Does he? And, wow, I didn’t know you hadn’t had a date in five years. So happy you were able to end that streak!

Yeah, he actually read the post, “Curiosity wrecked my great relationship.” I felt so exposed! lol

And yes, FINALLY a man crosses my path who I actually want to get to know better. (again) Yay!

He read just one post and stopped there?! No……. surely not.

  4. MidoriLei Says:

Yeah, he read more than that… and I feel like he has access to my thoughts now!lol.

Why don’t more girls appreciate things like that? *sigh*

And yes, he’d have to be pretty dumb to read the one post and not any of the others.

I think many girls would appreciate it! In fact, one of my friends got the idea from me and her and her long distance boyfriend did it too!

oh yeah, and I think he is a regular reader now:) I would be too if I knew I would be written about regularly!
