So, I have such interesting textversations. haha I’m coining that psuedo word right now. The other party will remain anonymous. Here’s how it went down:

she: …I don’t want to just like him because he likes me.

me: what’s wrong with liking someone cuz they like u? As long as they have a good character:)

she: Isn’t that like settling? Bc if he had not been interested i never would have thought of him like that!???

me: for long term relationships i want someone who loves me like Christ and you know we only love christ cuz he loved us first and pursued us. (1 John 4:19) How is that settling?

me: the battle for my heart goes to the one who loves me the best:)


she: I don’t know that I’ve ever picked a guy. They are always the ones who pick me. I was not even interested in this guy AT ALL, didn’t even think he was cute until he told me he was interested. And now I can’t stop thinking about him.

Lesson for men and women.

For men, it’s a lesson that it’s not necessarily the hot guys, or the smart guys, or the rich guys who women really head-over-heels fall for. It’s the guy who’s the most persistent and sincerely dedicated to a woman. (as long as she’s not repelled by the sight of you initially and even then… it’s still up in the air!)

For women, I know I’ve warned women to not go for the guy just because he’s after you, but also, there’s nothing wrong with falling for a guy just because he’s after you when he can back up his pursuit with a respectable character and integrity… and if you fall, you fall so who cares what you thought of him initially? Who cares if you would never have noticed him had he not liked you first? The point is that you need to be loved by a good, dedicated, loyal man who wants only you who through his actions shows that he cherishes you, and you need to be excited about the idea of having sex with this man. So yeah, the answer to the title? Yes, if he is deserving.
