Btw, I’m back from my sabbatical!

In this blog, I talk a lot about not settling. It’s important to know what you want in a person and not lower those standards, but at the same time, it’s also important to accept people’s humanity.

Perfection will not come.

Your dream man or woman is going to come with flaws. Ideally your weaknesses and strengths will compliment their weaknesses and strengths. Meaning where you are weak, the other person is strong, and where they are weak, you are strong.

Settling is being with someone you don’t respect/trust or are sexually attracted to.

Other than respect/trust/sexual attraction, it’s really not that wise to nit pick all the other issues a person has.

Coupling is a process where two people share in this very bumpy ride we call life. You help each other grow, but that also means that both of you will always have room to grow.

Some women spend their whole lives waiting for that perfect guy and don’t give the guys they know a chance. They’re waiting for the guy from the romantic comedy to pop up in real life. Notice how a lot of romantic comedies end at the beginning of the relationship? If there were sequels or trilogies, all the flaws of prince charming would show up.

Some men are waiting for some girl to come back into their life when that chapter is obviously over. They fail to appreciate the new women they meet because they are stuck on an old flame. In that situation, the guy should either hunt down that old flame and see if there is anything still there on her part. They will either continue where they left off or she will kill any hope that still keeps him stuck in the past so he can move on with his life. Either scenarios are positive in the long run. What he shouldn’t do is dwell on the past and not do anything about it.
