How Do You Know You Found the One???

I asked Cherie Burbach, author of the popular dating books, At the Coffee Shop and Internet Dating is Not Like Ordering a Pizza a similar question. Here’s what she said!

What made your husband stand out among all the other men you dated?

My husband and I got along very well right from the start. We also share the same sense of humor. I knew no matter what we would always be great friends. Conversation was very easy, and we both had a similar outlook on life. There was never any tension and we just got along very, very well. We still do. I’ve always heard that when it’s right you “just know,” and that’s very true. You do.

Here’s what I got out of her answer:

They had:

  • the same sense of humor (I agree. This is SOOOO important!)
  • a great friendship
  • a similar outlook on life
  • a feeling of ease in each other’s presence
  • conversations that flowed

And she had the intuition of “just knowing” he was the one. Awesome! Thanks Cherie. Have a great weekend everyone!

    hi hi hi.
thanks so much for mentioning us in the post below. i’m glad you liked the picture. i couldn’t agree more with the points you got out of cherie’s answer. i think a great friendship is key. (my husband and i were best friends and did everything together before we finally starting “dating”. i think that is what really sealed the deal and made us realize we wanted to spend forever together. having that ease and same outlook on life will only help too. it’s important to know you are both aiming for the same thing. anyway, your blog is awesome! i wish i would have been reading this back in the single dating days!

    xoxo

Yay! I LOVE your blog and am sooo inspired by you guys! When you have kids, you’ll have so much to show them from your relationship! You make married life look so great, and that’s refreshing because the media tends to make dating look great and marriage look like just work.
