Great Advice for Soon-to-be Brides: Gabrielle’s Take

Just found out today, Gabrielle, one of the property managers in my department is a Christian, and oh. so. wise. We had a great conversation about my upcoming nuptials… (yes I’m engaged!)

And being married, she had these three pieces of advice that really stuck to me:

    1. If you feel uncomfortable talking about something with him… that’s exactly what you have to talk about before you tie the knot.

    2. We all have our moments where we fall short.

    He’s going to do things that are not always worthy of respect, but your job is to respect him unconditionally.

    You’re going to do things that make you not so lovable, but it’s his job to love you unconditionally.

    Respect= men
    Love= women

    That’s what we need most from each other respectively.

    3. You’re aim is intimacy. Meaning knowing each other.

    Make it your aim to become the leading expert on your spouse.

    Be the one that knows them through and through. This is how to practically make your spouse your number one priority. If you’re more an expert on something else besides you’re spouse, you have ceased to make them your priority.
