For Stressed Brides-to-be: You Only Need 3 Things in a Wedding

I don’t understand why weddings take so long to plan, cost so much money, and become a couple’s biggest headache and stressor during their supposed-to-be-magical engagement period.

You only need three things in a wedding:

  • dress of your dreams-it’s the only time you’re going to be a bride, (you hope) so you want to look and feel your absolute best!
  • photographer of your dreams-one who will capture the memory exactly the way you want to remember it.
  • man of your dreams.-most importantly!

So if you have these three things, why not make it stress-free and enjoy the fact that you are starting a life with the most amazing man you know?

It’s not about the wedding, it’s about the marriage. It’s not about how everything looks, but how you make each other feel: extremely fortunate, happy, and loved. If you’re stressed out about an upcoming wedding, ask yourself, do I care more about impressing people or enjoying myself? It’s your day; you can do whatever you want!

This couple hopped on a bike and enjoyed their day. Surely, they know what truly matters:

Fun idea. I always like somewhat non-traditional approaches, but best of all when it’s something that fits the personality of the couple.

I’ve always hated the stereotype that the guy just shows up and it’s the girl who plans it all. I wouldn’t want to be left out of the process, it’s the couple’s day, not just the bride’s. It seems silly to begin a new life together by segregating right from the start. To me, it’s really all about making something memorable and hopefully it’s something you will only do once. May as well make it a smooth production, whether it be grand and extravagant or small and personal.

Can you imagine how frustrating it must be for a photographer to get married and not be the one behind the camera? Haha. When I was a groomsman at one friend’s wedding I ended up having to slip out of the lineup to help the A/V guys because they weren’t getting it right.

I LOVE that you said, ” I wouldn’t want to be left out of the process, it’s the couple’s day, not just the bride’s. It seems silly to begin a new life together by segregating right from the start. ” That is SO true! I’m so glad you mentioned that.

How cute. Yeah, I had similar thoughts awhile ago. I want the perfect dress, a talented photographer, incredible music. Oh, and my lovely man! I’d like lots of lights and flowers strewn about, along with a big helping of the people I love. That’s all.

I totally forgot about music! Yes, we need the perfect music too!!!! ( and family and friends around of course:)

Have your cake and eat it kind of a dillema. What should today’s brides do? Have a great reception or save for a house? I would take the second without a doubt
