Blue Valentine
This movie SUCKS!
I was just watching the movie Blue Valentine today and yesterday. I kid you not. Don’t believe what the back says: “Best movie of the year.” Ehhh, it’s probably my least favorite love story of all time, and one of the worst movies ever. I was finishing the movie today because Nate didn’t want to finish it last night. It’s a depressing movie, and he really gets put off by movies where all the couples do is argue.
So I watched the end today by myself. I’m the kind of person who has to finish a movie, no matter how bad it is.
If you never want to be in a relationship again and want to lose all faith in love, watch this movie.
Yeah, that’s how bad it was.
Throughout the entire movie, you just can’t pinpoint what it was exactly that made their relationship go sour. Cindy, the character played by Michelle Williams has basically given up all hope in her marriage. The hard thing about love is that you can’t force someone to love you forever. And Dean (the guy played by Ryan Gosling) really had no hope in saving his marriage because in her heart, Cindy had already given up. Her character was sad, lonesome and perpetually unhappy.
And maybe my point in writing this post is to encourage guys to marry a woman who is an optimist.
Cindy never had an example of what a good marriage was. It was almost like she didn’t even know how to be happy. Sad:(
No matter how beautiful she is, guys, RUN the other way if all signs point to a person who doesn’t know how to be happy. That’s my two cents for today:)
Maybe I’m just a sucker for only movies with good endings…
Here’s how they met:
Kudos for Dean on his approach with Cindy…. but he should have run away! What’s up with that “joke” she told? Bad sign from the get-go.
